  1. He belonged to the high caste. ਉਹ ਉੱਚ ਜਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸੀ।
  1. He doesn’t consider the difference between a poor man from the high castes and untouchable. ਉਹ ਉੱਚ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਛੂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।

  1. Ram Singh wanted him to stop teaching Sita Ram. ਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

  1. His mother is a prostitute in delhi. ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਹੈ।
  1. He studies with the upper caste boys in a school. ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।

  1. Odarka is the heroine of the story of “The Taboo”. ਓਦਾਰਕਾ “ਦ ਟੈਬੂ” ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਨਾਇਕਾ ਹੈ।
  1. She is only seven years old, when the story starts. ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
  1. She is a dutiful child. ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਦਾਰ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੈ।Character Sketch of Odarka

  1. Whereas her daughter died in hospital and her brother was murdered by a gangster. ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੇਟੀ ਦੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਨੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

  1. Odarka is the main character of this story. ਓਦਾਰਕਾ ਇਸ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਪਾਤਰ ਹੈ।
  1. Her life is a tale of deaths and suffering. ਉਸਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੌਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਹੈ।

  1. There is a large tall cherry tree standing outside the hut of Odarka. ਓਡਾਰਕਾ ਦੀ ਝੌਂਪੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਰੱਖਤ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ।
  1. Odarka herself had planted this tree when she was seven years old. ਓਡਾਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਇਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਉਦੋਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸੀ।
  1. She has grown older now. ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

  1. Which divided India into two parts as India and Pakistan. ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੋ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
