  1. Eveline is a young woman of nineteen years. Eveline 19 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਔਰਤ ਹੈ.
  1. She has grown up in her parents’ home. ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

  1. Who had promised a good life to Eveline.  ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਐਵਲਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
  1. He works as a deck boy on the ship which goes to canada. ਉਹ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ‘ਤੇ ਡੈੱਕ ਬੁਆਏ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

  1. As she can live with him as his wife in a foreign country. ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

  1. Thus she is unable to resolve the clash of promises. ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।
